This is the perfect snack. Healthy and tasty millet balls. In the recipe I was following they were fried, but I put them in the oven and they turned out perfect.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup millet
- 1 onion, diced
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 4 pieces of bread
- 2 tablespoons flour
- salt and pepper to taste
- some bread crumbs
- some oil for frying, if you decide to fry them
Put the millet in a pot and cover it with 4 cups of water. Cook it until the millet is soft. You may need to add some more water. After the millet is cooked put it aside to cool a little.
Dice the onion and mince the garlic. Put the bread in a bowl and cover it with water. After the bread is soaked, press the bread with your hands until all the water is drained.
In a bowl mix the onion, garlic, bread, the cooked millet and add the spices. Mix everything with your hands. Make balls and put them in the bread crumbs one by one. They should be covered in bread crumbs.
Heat the oven to 200 degrees C (390 F). Place the millet balls on a pan covered with parchment paper. Bake about 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
You can fry them instead of baking them, but I chose the healthier version and they were delicious.
Enjoy!
