Baked Macaroni and Cheese

You can transform the regular baked macaroni into something special and delicious with this recipe. Everyone will love them, I promise. I love pasta in any form, but this one is one of my favorite pasta recipes.

  • 500 grams macaroni (17 oz)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 200 grams cream cheese (7 oz)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons mustard
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons parsley 

Cook the macaroni according to package directions, and set them aside.
Melt butter in a large saucepan and add the flour. Cook whisking constantly. Gradually add the milk and cook for about 5 minutes or until thickened.
 Remove from heat and stir in salt, pepper, mustard, cream cheese and shredded cheese. Combine everything well. Add the cheese mixture into the macaroni and mix everything well.
Put the mixture into a greased baking pan. 
Melt the remaining butter and add the bread crumbs and parsley. Top the macaroni with the bread crumbs mixture.
Bake at 200 degrees Celsius (400 F) for 40 minutes.
